Back to School Newsletter

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year; the year of change! The school calendar has been approved by the board of education, and is located on the Clear Fork website at www.clearfork.k12.oh.us. Open house is August 14th at 6:00 p.m., and the first day of school for students will be Wednesday, August 15th. School times are remaining the same with all students expected to be in their classrooms at 7:55 a.m., and dismissal is 2:45 p.m. Breakfast will be served from 7:10-7:40 each morning at a cost of $1.00.

Please look closely at the calendar as students will be having a three week Winter Break from December 17-January 4. The current timeline has the new Butler Elementary School being completed by December 2018, and the new Bellville Elementary possibly being complete in December 2018. These dates could change due to various factors involved in the construction process over which we have no control. The first day for students in the new buildings is expected to be Monday, January 7th, and we are anticipating having an open house on Friday January 4th for parents and students. If we cannot move into the new building at this time, we will communicate this information to you in a timely manner.

Volunteers are an integral and valued part of our daily operations. Without them, we would be unable to offer the excellent service our teachers have come to rely on. Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, all volunteers who are working in the classroom or attending field trips will be required to be fingerprinted. The requirements are as follows and may be done at Clear Fork Board of Education (92 Hines Ave., Bellville):

-if the volunteer has lived in Ohio more than five years, he/she will be required to have an

BCI check at a cost of $28.

-if the volunteer has lived in Ohio less than five years, he/she will be required to have

both a BCI and FBI check at a cost of $55.

-if you are volunteering to help out with classroom parties ONLY, you are not required to

be fingerprinted.

Volunteers will not be permitted to serve in the buildings until the fingerprint reports have been received. We appreciate your willingness to have this completed to ensure the safety of our students.

We encourage you to sign up for Butler Remind and/or Bellville Remind. Directions on how to do this can be found on each school’s webpage. This method of communication is used frequently throughout the year for information, events, or closings and delays. Each building has a twitter account that can be followed @ButlerCFVLS and @BellvilleCFVLS. Thank you so much for sharing your child(ren) with us as we begin a new and exciting chapter in the Clear Fork Valley!!
